Its rapidly growing population is putting increasing pressure on housing, transportation, and inequality, but it also has access to an incredibly innovative and resource-rich tech community. Join San Jose Chief Innovation Officer Shireen Santosham (HBS '09) in a conversation about how the Mayor's Office is using technology and innovation to help address the biggest challenges facing the city (co-hosted by Social Enterprise and Tech Clubs at HBS).
Shireen Santosham is Chief Innovation Officer for Mayor Liccardo where she leads efforts to build the "smart city" vision and strategy for San Jose. Previously, she worked at the GSMA where she was a Director in the Mobile for Development group that aims to close the digital divide for base of the pyramid populations in the developing world through mobile technology and the internet. She has extensive experience working on innovative initiatives across sectors, including working at McKinsey & Company, with international NGOs, and as an impact investor at Vulcan Capital.
Shireen holds a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an M.P.A in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School and is a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations.
